The Times-Herald will say tomorrow : ' "Definite information reached Chicago today that the contracts had h en signed in London Friday which formally trans ferred to a single organization practically all of the large producing copper mines in tiie United States. The details were meager, and came through the brokers who had handled minor partsof the deal in this city. "It is understood that the mines un der contract produce about 425,000,000 pounds fine of the total ( utput of 583, 000,000 pounds fine that were miued in this country last year. These mines, it is claimed, will producefully 475,000,000 pounds fine of the output of 600,000,01)0 pounds fine estimated for 1899. "According to estimate made directly after the negotiations for the big produ cers became public property, the actual value of the mining properties taken over will exceed $400,000,000. The par ticulars, however, will probably be made public during the coming week, and the formal life of the company will date frcm Mav 1. "In effect, the new organization is an international trust in copper. The or ganization will protect the price both in Europe and America and give to the company power to to distribute the out put intelligently and economically to the markets where it is most in demand. It whs the latter consideration which brought into the combination some of the interests which were previously an tagonistic. The Rothschilds furnished the funds and made the stipulations for i he European interests involved, while the Standard Oil Company was credited with acting in tfie same capacity for the American hide. The Rothschild interest h.ul its main leverage in its holdings on Isle Royal, in Lake Superior, known as the Wendigo Copper Company, the, stock of which concern is not listed on any American exchange, and the Isle Royal Land Company, Limited. Among the other properties named in yester- day's private cables were the Clark-Big- elow and the Marcua Daly interests in Montana, the Arcadian and Centennial, in the Lake Superior region, and the OKI Dominion, in Arizona, but it is Known that several other companies not named are included."
